Epicness

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We had a pretty good one, except for the 45 mins or so that Branden and I were on the verge of killing each other...but that's what we get for not getting dinner until 10pm. Have you ever seen footage of two lions fighting over a dead warthog? Apparently people have that same instinct when they haven't eaten in 8 hours. Thankfully no limbs or faces were ripped off in the process.

On Friday night, we were watching one of our favorite chat shows, The Graham Norton Show, and since Will Smith, Gary Barlow, and Tom Jones were on the couch, epicness was bound to happen. Random side note: "epicness" isn't a real word (unless you count Urban Dictionary) which I'm revolting against and going to use it anyway because there is too much epicness in my world to not say so!

So anyway, this is the clip of epicness that ensued from that show.

I do love how EVERYBODY knows that song...except Tom Jones... He's allowed to get away with it though, especially since he actually appeared on The Fresh Prince show and did a sing along with Carlton (and the Carlton Dance to Tom's song is amazing as well!). I also loved how Will kept cracking up over Gary's playing and also his vocal impersonation of what Gary played! It truly was a great show that night and that moment was priceless!

NOTE: I did get this clip on Youtube from BBC so if for some reason it won't play for my US readers, please let me know.

  1. I'm able to view it from my computer.

Why am I picturing a pizza getting slaughtered by two starving residents of the emerald isle?

    1. Hahaha, we were actually making chicken roulade so with the time it takes to construct them and then cook them, it would have been easier to just get a pizza!

  2. Norton is brilliant, do you remember his character on Father Ted? That was the first time I'd seen him.

    1. I love the episode where Ted and Dougal got lost in the caves and run across Graham's character, Noel, and his youth kids. Graham was hilarious!

  4. I'm like that after a couple of hours. Especially when I've decided to go shopping with my girlfriend. I just need something to eat while she's picking dresses and jeans and what have you. Yeah, I remember Tom appearing on that show. Great song... and dance, Carlton!

  5. I'm the other person who doesn't know that rap. I never watched the show. But I sometimes like Will Smith's movies.

    1. Well you can be grouped together with Tom Jones as "amazing enough to be forgiven for not knowing". :)

  6. Since you are still a newlywed I will share a bit of advice that has kept me married for almost 30 years now. Always keep a stash of jerky and chocolate somewhere in the pantry.

The protein in the jerky will help kill the hunger pangs and chocolate just makes everything better til the real food is ready.

    1. Mmmmm, jerky! It is oddly hard to find over here and the only place I know of that sells it is an Australian themed pub that also sells great cocktails by the pitcher...I think that definitely would help!! ;)

  9. I was so overjoyed when I saw this last weekend! Every time someone here finds out I'm from Philly they immediately say, "Oh, like the Fresh Prince!" or, "Do you know all the words to the Fresh Prince song?" (I do, for the record) or on the odd occasion, "Like the cheese!" (to which I have to break the news that Philadelphia cream cheese is not and never was from Philly).
In short, I was delighted to see everyone rapping on Graham Norton :)
