This Post is kind of a Big Deal...

This is a slightly iconic post for me. This is my 50th post on this blog, I'm back from a week of not being able to blog, and I am doing something I am completely against in the blogging world...vlogging. I love it when other people vlog but for me, blogging is the ultimate platform for the socially terrified who feel safe knowing that nobody can 'see' them. Vlogging makes me seeable, hearable and takes me out of my typing only comfort zone.

The only reason I am vlogging is because Branden left me with the video camera while he was gone so naturally I documented my boring and awkward days without him. I have cut out a lot of footage (mostly due to unsightly angles and lack of makeup in some shots) and compiled it down to a short little compilation of some of the things I did while Branden abandoned me.

Luckily on the morning he left, a care package from my mom-in-law arrived so I had a box of goodies to craft with, some new pj's, a new book (The Help which is FABULOUS!) and TWO family sized boxes of Cheeze-its!!! I don't miss much food from the States but for some reason Cheeze-its are a weakness and I may have almost finished off an entire box by the time Branden got back...may have.

When Branden did get back, he called me as he was walking home. I managed to get him off of the phone so I could surprise him by meeting him halfway on the road. A couple was walking in front of him so he couldn't see me (plus he was looking at an ad for Ireland Master Chef on the side of a bus stop) so he jumped a mile and let out a shriek when I popped out from behind the couple and tried to hug/pounce on him! He must have assumed he was being mugged by the world's shortest mugger! We cracked up all the way back home over it. I can't tell you how happy I am to have him back home again!

...although the video footage may give you a clue.

  1. Oh yeah for that H2O floor cleaner. Buy it!!!

    Mmm...Cheez-Its!

They're called "laugh lines." It means you're happy!

Also, apparently I'm a 12-year-old by because I laughed when you said "get my wool out."

"I'm the magnificent, marvelous, Mad Madam Mim!"

A bear?! You've gone round the bend.

  2. DON'T DO THAT TO YOUR TO YOUR FOREHEAD!!!

Now that I'm done screaming, welcome back to the world. I'm glad that Branden came back before you did anything seriously wacked.

(Although playing under a table and dragging a teddy towards us might qualify if you were totally sober.)

    Cute vlog Princess.:)

  3. Joshua...thanks for waking up the 12 year old boy in my husband because now that's all he's laughing about!

Boomer, it's terrible I know but I just can't seem to not talk without using my forehead. I've actually tried taping it down to see if I could try and hold it still but I failed... Sadly, I was totally sober the whole time (although I may not want to admit that because it may hurt my sanity case!)

  4. You are sooo awesome! AND you made my day. Madam Mim is totally freaky LOL!

    P. S. Cheez Its are the best food ever--I could live off of them. The other day my husband came home and I'd breaded chicken with cheez its. Best chicken ever *giggles*

  5. Elisa, thanks for reminding me of my past fear! I'm a bit bummed now because dinner just came out of the oven but I want Cheeze-it breaded chicken now!! That sounds incredible!!!

  7. This was great fun! Loved the close up on your eyes and practically non-existent forehead wrinkles! You are a trip.

  8. Thanks Lisa, my husband loved that as well (and I think he must have thought his wife should never be left alone again!)

Stephanie, you are too kind because my forehead wrinkles are too apparent. I could never get Botox though because I'm terrified of needles...I guess it's back to bangs at some point...yuck

  9. I'd be terrified to have that many trays of tiny beads around me, knowing my clumsiness.

  10. I did actually spill them a few times in my bed...I'll probably be finding them in my crack for the next few weeks...

  11. Why thank you! I bet you didn't even see the ribbon around it's neck until I started tugging on it! ;)

  12. I'm quite impressed - I keep trying to vlog but never actually manage it!

  13. Megan, welcome to my cell! Impressed wasn't the first reaction I had when I reviewed my footage...but I'll take compliments! This possibly is my first and last ever vlog. It is stressful and takes forever to upload (at least on my bandwidth). It was fun too though!

  14. I'm so glad your back!!! It's about time. Missed you lady. O laughed right at loud at your video. Tell Branden he is not allowed to leave you again or he is going to start a blogging war against him. Naughty man!

  15. OH. EM. GEE. Throughout this whole thing I wasn't sure if I should be laughing or appalled at how similarly dorky we both are. You have gorgeous eyes by the way and the wrinkles you THINK you have...just you wait.

  16. you have NO wrinkles.

    You look like you're 17.

And I am a dork, too.

    high five.

I'd vlog but it takes oh,27 hours, to upload.

  17. Melynda, Branden has been thoroughly notified and has no plans on leaving me alone again! He had a bit of a rough time too and said he would find himself lost and confused at Burger King, not knowing what to order because I wasn't there to ask him what he was getting before he got to the counter! I'm so glad to be back to blogging too!

Vixen, Yay another dork to add to my tribe! (We meet up and cry every Wednesday...) You are too sweet but I do have to agree with you on my eyes. They are inherited from my dad and they had better look good because I can spend up to 20 mins combing ever glob of mascara out of my eyelashes so they are perfect! Yes, I did say combing.

Empress, I wish I felt like I did at 17! I didn't realize your body could start seizing up on you when you sit cross legged and getting out of bed can be so hard all before the age of 30! I don't think I'm old by any means. Old is if you break 100 in my book. Wahoo for another dork for me to note! I love not being the only one!

  18. OMG, I don't know how you found me, but I'm so glad you came by my blog because you're a frickin' riot! Rye-ot! The bear thing with the Cheez-its wall. . . where do you come up with this?

  19. Tammy, Twitter suggested you as someone I should follow...and so when I read your blog I knew it was definitely right! I don't know if I actually come up with this stuff, sadly it is just how I am... ;)
